Royal by Heritage. Built by Vision.

In the evolving world of luxury textiles, where heritage craftsmanship meets global sophistication, few entrepreneurs represent this balance as naturally as Prashant Pittie. As the Founder & Managing Director of Pittietex, he has transformed a deep-rooted family legacy into a globally respected luxury cashmere enterprise built on authenticity, craftsmanship, and modern vision.

Coming from a seventh-generation business family, Prashant Pittie chose not to merely continue a legacy but to redefine it through independent ambition and international expansion. With a sharp understanding of luxury markets and a passion for timeless craftsmanship, he has positioned Pittietex among the leading ethically driven cashmere houses in South Asia, serving global retailers, hospitality groups, and premium private-label partners across continents.

Under his leadership, Pittietex has evolved beyond manufacturing into a symbol of understated luxury, innovation, and long-term brand value. By blending artisanal excellence with global business strategy, Prashant Pittie is not only elevating South Asian craftsmanship on the international stage but also building a modern empire rooted in heritage, credibility, and enduring elegance.

BACKGROUND AND JOURNEY

Q. Can you share a brief about yourself and your professional journey?

Growing up around textiles and international business gave me an early appreciation for craftsmanship, global trade, and the value of long-term relationships. Those experiences ultimately inspired me to build Pittietex and pursue my own path in the luxury fashion industry.

Over time, I developed a strong interest in luxury cashmere and saw an opportunity to combine traditional craftsmanship with modern global positioning. That vision eventually led me to build Pittietex, focused on luxury cashmere manufacturing, private label development, and international expansion across Europe, the United States, and Asia.

Today, our operations combine artisanal production with an international outlook, working with retailers, hospitality groups, and global partners while continuing to build a long-term presence in the luxury space. Our supply chain spans four continents, and Pittietex has grown to become “one of South Asia’s most ethically driven luxury cashmere houses”.

This journey also evolved into proprietary brands such as OOON and PITTIE Cashmere, reflecting our philosophy of understated luxury and timeless craftsmanship.

“Built on legacy. Focused on the Future.”

That balance between heritage and independent ambition has shaped my entire professional path.

MOTIVATION

Q. What motivated or inspired you to pursue this industry?

What inspired me most was the craftsmanship behind cashmere and the opportunity to bring traditional luxury into a modern global space. I have always believed that Indian and South Asian craftsmanship deserves stronger positioning in international luxury markets.

For me, it has always been about combining heritage with contemporary vision.

KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Q. What do you consider your most significant accomplishments?

One of my biggest accomplishments has been building an international cashmere vertical independently and establishing long-term relationships with global buyers and luxury partners.

I am also proud of positioning the business within the luxury space rather than operating only as a traditional manufacturing company. Building credibility internationally takes time, and earning that trust has been one of the most rewarding parts of the journey.

CHALLENGES AND LEARNINGS

Q. What challenges have you faced in your career?

One of the biggest challenges has been proving myself independently despite assumptions that things come easily when you come from a business family.

Another challenge has been modernising a traditional industry while preserving authenticity and craftsmanship. Luxury markets demand consistency, trust, and long-term credibility, which takes years to build.

VISION AND INNOVATION

Q. What is your vision for the future of your business or industry?

I believe the future of luxury lies in authenticity, traceability, sustainability, and craftsmanship preservation.

Through Pittietex, my vision is to help position India and South Asia more strongly within the global luxury textile space, not only through manufacturing, but also through design, storytelling, innovation, and long-term brand value.

I believe the future belongs to businesses that can combine heritage craftsmanship with modern global positioning while remaining authentic in their identity.

FUTURE GOALS

Q. What are you looking forward to accomplishing most in 2026?

In 2026, I am looking forward to expanding globally, building stronger international collaborations, and continuing to establish our presence within the global luxury cashmere market.

Most importantly, I want to continue building a modern legacy business with long-term relevance and international respect.

CLOSING THOUGHTS

“I believe entrepreneurship is ultimately about building something authentic and enduring. Trends change, but craftsmanship, relationships, and credibility always remain timeless.”
